Odel Kamara wins professional boxing debut via third-round stoppage

Liverpool boxer Odel Kamara secured a victory in his professional debut against Thodoris Ritzakis at the Utilita Arena in Birmingham. Kamara, a 22-year-old former World amateur championship bronze medalist, won via a third-round stoppage in a super-lightweight contest.

During the first round, Kamara landed a heavy right hand that dropped Ritzakis. While Ritzakis managed to survive the initial onslaught, the fight concluded at 2:53 of the third round following a short uppercut from Kamara. Some observers noted the stoppage appeared early, as Ritzakis seemed capable of continuing, while others credited the decisive moment to Kamara's power.

Despite the win, analysts noted areas for improvement in Kamara's technique. Observations included a tendency to overcommit on wide swings, which left him open to counters, and concerns regarding his stamina and reach at the 154-pound weight class. Promoter Eddie Hearn expressed high expectations for the prospect moving forward.
