Odell Beckham Jr. criticizes Giants following mid-season release

The New York Giants have released veteran wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. after just three games in the 2026 season. The move, which allowed the team to sign Braxton Berrios to the active roster, follows a period where Beckham struggled to find a role in the offense, recording only one target and zero receptions during his brief tenure.

Giants coach John Harbaugh addressed the decision, stating that the team was not getting enough production from Beckham and that the arrangement was not working. While some reports suggested the parting was a mutual decision, Beckham expressed his frustration via Instagram, stating he felt he had earned his roster spot and suggesting the team had misled him.

Beckham, a three-time Pro Bowler who previously enjoyed a highly successful first stint with the Giants, had faced various injuries throughout his career, including ACL tears in 2020 and 2022, which analysts suggest impacted his performance.
