Odell Beckham Jr. nears New York Giants roster spot after strong camp

Odell Beckham Jr. is positioned to potentially secure a spot on the New York Giants' 53-man roster following a strong training camp. Giants coach John Harbaugh noted that the 33-year-old wide receiver has been submitting his best work recently, stating, “I think Odell’s had a good camp... He’s looked good and made numerous plays.”

Beckham, who has not played an NFL game since December 2024, is currently competing for a role after signing a one-year, minimum-salary deal. His chances may have increased following a season-ending ACL injury to receiver Calvin Austin III. While Malik Nabers, Malachi Fields, Darnell Mooney, and Darius Slayton are considered locks for the roster, Beckham is viewed as a frontrunner for the No. 5 receiver position.

Despite his performance, Beckham faces competition from players like Dalen Cambre, who offers value on special teams. Beckham is expected to play in the Giants' preseason finale against the Jets this Friday.
