Romont arson suspects: Three minors arrested for series of fires

Three minors have been arrested in connection with a series of fires in Romont, Switzerland. The suspects, including a 16-year-old Ukrainian national and two 15-year-old Swiss nationals, admitted to varying degrees of involvement in the arson incidents that have occurred in the Glâne district since June 21, 2026.

The most recent incident took place on a Friday evening near a cemetery on Rue du Château, where waste was set ablaze, destroying a roadside embankment and a tree stump. While the fire was partially contained by a local transport driver before firefighters arrived, no injuries were reported. The suspects have been taken into provisional custody and will face the youth court.
