Odense BK fires coach Alexander Zorniger after one Superliga match
German coach Alexander Zorniger, 58, was dismissed by Danish Superliga side Odense Boldklub (OB) after the club's opening match of the 2025‑26 season, a 0‑1 defeat to Viborg FF. The club cited “cooperation difficulties and lack of support for the club’s strategic direction and identity,” as explained by sports director Troels Bech, adding that “nobody stands above the club.” Zorniger had been hired on a three‑year contract that originally ran until 2028, but the agreement was terminated after just one game. During the previous season he guided OB to an eighth‑place finish in the Superliga and had overseen 38 league matches in total. The club immediately announced Thomas Thomasberg as his successor.
