Odense Hosts Free Girls' Football Festival for Ages 6‑10

The Danish Football Association’s regional body DBU Fyn organized a free, open‑air football festival for girls on Saturday, 22 August, at Odense Atletikstadion. The event, aimed at children aged 6 to 10 who have not yet joined a club, required no prior registration or membership. Participants could simply arrive in suitable clothing and join the scheduled sessions – 09:30‑11:00 for the youngest group (born 2018‑2020) and 11:30‑13:30 for the older group (born 2015‑2017). The festival’s goal is to give girls a fun, low‑pressure introduction to football and encourage them to bring friends, helping to close the gender gap in youth sport participation on Funen.
