Oderzo jewelry store robbed by masked gang
A group of four or five masked individuals carried out a nighttime robbery at the Corona jewelry store in Piazza Grande, Oderzo, during the night of September 2-3. The perpetrators forced entry into the premises and used a fire extinguisher to spread powder throughout the shop, likely to obscure visibility and hinder law enforcement response.
After smashing display cases, the group stole an unspecified amount of jewelry. The shop owner, Mauro Corona, who lives across from the store, responded to the alarm and encountered the thieves as they were fleeing with bags of stolen goods. During the confrontation, the suspects reportedly threatened Corona with a crowbar and a screwdriver.
The thieves fled in a vehicle that was reportedly carrying a fifth accomplice. The Carabinieri of Oderzo are currently investigating the incident. The owner has provided surveillance footage to authorities to assist in identifying the suspects.
