Odilzhon Abdurakhmanov returns to Thanh Hoa FC

Thanh Hoa FC has secured a one-year contract with Kyrgyzstani midfielder Odilzhon Abdurakhmanov, despite the player previously announcing his departure from the club. Head coach Mai Xuan Hop confirmed the signing on August 13.

Abdurakhmanov, the 2024 Kyrgyzstan Silver Ball winner, played a vital role in the club's successful fight against relegation during the 2025/26 season. The 1.85m midfielder previously played for several Central Asian clubs, including Bunyodkor and Alay Osh, before moving to Vietnam.

The return follows a period of financial and administrative instability for Thanh Hoa FC. The club reported that it has completed all necessary procedures and fine payments to FIFA to have its transfer ban lifted. Dong A Real Estate Group, a long-term sponsor, has taken responsibility for settling the club's outstanding debts and the required payments to FIFA.
