Odisha secures Rs 43,437 crore in food processing investment proposals

During the 'Odisha Food Pro 2026' investment roadshow in New Delhi, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi announced plans to transform Odisha into a major food processing hub. The event secured investment proposals totaling Rs 43,437 crore, which are expected to create approximately 43,316 jobs. The agreements include 27 MoUs worth Rs 41,748 crore and 12 Investment Intent Forms worth Rs 1,689 crore, covering sectors such as beverage processing, agro-processing, logistics, and packaging.

To support this expansion, the Odisha government announced the launch of five new food parks spanning 1,000 acres. These parks will be located in Bali, Barapali, Balasore, Bargarh, and Kalahandi. The initiative aims to bring processing and value addition closer to production centers, focusing on commodities like cereals, millets, fruits, vegetables, seafood, and cashew.

In a separate industrial engagement, Chief Minister Majhi visited Haier’s manufacturing facility in Noida to review manufacturing processes and discuss industrial growth and collaboration.
