Odisha announces scholarship deadline extension and exam updates

The Odisha state government has extended the application deadline for Pre-Matric and Post-Matric scholarship schemes for the 2026-27 academic session to October 30. The extension, announced by the ST & SC Development, Minorities & Backward Classes Welfare Department, applies to students in the Scheduled Tribe, Scheduled Caste, Other Backward Classes, Socially and Educationally Backward Classes, and Economically Weaker Sections categories.

Under the revised timeline, educational institutions have until November 10, 2026, to verify and forward applications, with a final deadline for online approval set for November 30, 2026. Officials noted that further extensions may not be granted.

Separately, the Board of Secondary Education (BSE), Odisha, has released details regarding the Class 10 (Matriculation) Half-Yearly Examinations for the 2026-27 academic year. These offline exams are expected to take place between late September and October 2026, serving as a preparation milestone for the annual board exams.
