Odisha CADA Engineer Padmalochan Nayak arrested in disproportionate assets case

Odisha vigilance officials arrested Padmalochan Nayak, Executive Engineer of the Command Area Development Authority (CADA) in Sambalpur, on accusations of possessing assets disproportionate to his known income. Simultaneous raids were carried out at seven locations across Sambalpur, Cuttack, Balasore and Malkangiri districts, targeting Nayak’s residences, office chamber and properties of his associates.

During the operation, officials recovered cash of about Rs 3.45 lakh, three four‑wheelers, two JCB machines, a tractor, a trailer, gold ornaments valued at roughly Rs 20 lakh, as well as multiple residential buildings and about 15 plots in various districts. The raids involved four Deputy Superintendents of Police, 13 inspectors and seven assistant sub‑inspectors.
