Odisha Chief Secretary directs collectors to fast-track flagship projects

Odisha Chief Secretary Anu Garg has directed district collectors to expedite the implementation of flagship government schemes and resolve bottlenecks related to land, administrative approvals, and project execution. During a high-level review meeting at Lok Seva Bhawan, Garg emphasized the need for close coordination between collectors and departmental officials to ensure projects deliver tangible benefits within stipulated deadlines.

The review covered a wide range of sectors, including Housing and Urban Development, Health and Family Welfare, Women and Child Development, and MSME. Key discussions included resolving land issues affecting urban drinking water projects in Khordha, Sambalpur, and Cuttack, as well as compliance with waste-management norms.

In the health sector, officials reviewed the National Tuberculosis Elimination Programme, the ‘Ama Hospital’ programme, and land requirements for primary health centres. The Women and Child Development department focused on the ‘Suposhit Odisha’ Mission and digital monitoring for nutrition services. Additionally, the meeting addressed progress on the ‘Baraputra Heritage Corridor’, handloom initiatives, and the Kharif-2026 digital survey for farmers.
