Odisha CM Majhi promotes child nutrition and women’s welfare

Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has emphasized the importance of nutrition and welfare for women and children during the ‘Angan Ka Utsav’ and the ninth Rashtriya Poshan Maah celebrations. Majhi called for increased family involvement, particularly from fathers, to support childcare and nutrition during a child’s first 1,000 days.

The Chief Minister noted that over 46 lakh activities were conducted across the state during Poshan Maah. He also credited frontline workers, including Anganwadi workers, auxiliary nurse midwives, and ASHA workers, for improving healthcare indicators. These efforts have contributed to higher child immunization rates, increased institutional deliveries, and a reduction in infant and maternal mortality rates in Odisha.
