Odisha CM addresses corruption crackdown and Kotia border dispute

Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has announced a zero-tolerance policy toward corruption, reporting that 41 government employees have been dismissed and 91 retired employees have had their pensions stopped due to involvement in corruption cases. During Vigilance Awareness Week, Majhi noted that the state's conviction rate in vigilance cases rose from 50 percent in 2025 to 65 percent by September 2026. He emphasized that the government is using public grievance hearings and technology to ensure public funds reach intended beneficiaries.

Separately, Chief Minister Majhi responded to Leader of Opposition Naveen Patnaik regarding the long-standing inter-state boundary dispute over the Kotia group of villages. Majhi reiterated that the area has been an integral part of Odisha since 1936 and asserted the state's commitment to protecting its territorial integrity through legal and constitutional means. He urged Patnaik to provide constructive and legally sustainable solutions rather than approaching the sensitive issue from a political standpoint.
