Odisha disburses Rs 833 crore for CM-KISAN scheme

Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has disbursed over Rs 833 crore as the fifth instalment of the CM-KISAN scheme. The funds are intended to support the 2026-27 Rabi season by helping farmers purchase seeds, fertilisers, and other necessary inputs.

More than 41 lakh small and marginal farmers, including vulnerable tribal groups and landless farmer families, received the assistance. Each eligible beneficiary had Rs 2,000 transferred directly into their bank accounts via the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) mechanism to ensure funds reach recipients without intermediaries. The disbursement ceremony was held at the Odisha University of Agriculture & Technology in Bhubaneswar.
