Odisha election officials assign ten senior IAS officers to oversee voter‑list revision

The Chief Electoral Officer of Odisha, RS Gopalan, directed a team of Electoral Roll Observers (EROs) to closely monitor the scrutiny of the draft electoral roll and the disposal of claims and objections, ensuring that no eligible voter is omitted during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR‑2026).

The Election Commission of India appointed ten senior IAS officers as EROs for the SIR‑2026 in Odisha. Each observer will make at least three visits to their assigned districts, review progress at district headquarters, inspect polling stations, and hold meetings with MPs, MLAs and party representatives. They are also to receive public complaints about enrolment, deletions and corrections, and to report findings to the CEO. The draft rolls are scheduled for publication on 5 July, with a claim period from 5 July to 4 August. The qualifying date for the revision is 1 July.

Officer assignments include Rajesh Pravakar Patil (Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Jajpur), Aravind Agrawal (Balasore, Bhadrak, Mayurbhanj), Balwant Singh (Kalahandi, Balangir, Nuapada), B. Parameswaran (Subarnapur, Boudh, Kandhamal), Bijay Ketan Upadhyaya (Deogarh, Sambalpur, Bargarh), D. Prasantha Kumar Reddy (Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada), Sudhansu Mohan Samal (Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Angul), Rashmita Panda (Puri, Khordha, Nayagarh, Bhubaneswar), Mohammed Sadique Alam (Nabarangpur, Koraput, Malkangiri) and Sangram Keshari Mohapatra (Keonjhar, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda).
