Odisha Governor orders university faculty recruitment by November

Odisha Governor and Chancellor of Universities, Hari Babu Kambhampati, has directed vice-chancellors of state public universities to begin recruiting for vacant teaching positions by the first week of November. He requested that the entire recruitment process be completed by the end of that month.

During a meeting at Lok Bhavan in Bhubaneswar, Kambhampati emphasized that merit and quality must remain the top priorities in faculty appointments. To ensure a broad and inclusive selection, he suggested that all eligible applicants be invited for interviews rather than utilizing extensive initial shortlisting processes.

In addition to academic staffing, the Governor encouraged universities to seek green certification, noting the platinum certification achieved by the Odisha Lok Bhavan from the Indian Green Building Council. He also requested updates regarding universities currently pursuing accreditation.
