Odisha Higher Education Department Publishes 2026‑27 Undergraduate Admission Statistics

The Higher Education Department (HED) of Odisha released two key admission updates for the 2026‑27 academic year. A statistics report for its four‑year Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP) showed a total sanctioned seat strength of 1,500, with 10,647 applicants. Of these, 546 were admitted in the first round, 713 in the second, and 1,259 overall, leaving a third‑round waiting‑list process for the remaining candidates.

In a separate announcement, HED issued the third merit list for undergraduate (UG) courses. Out of 287,519 available seats, 237,200 students applied in the first phase. After the first two merit lists, 118,630 students had secured admission. The third list added 53,656 students (21,879 male, 31,773 female, four transgender). Cut‑off percentages varied by stream, with Ravenshaw University reporting the highest marks in English (94.80%), Commerce (91.83%), and Physics (95.67%). Buxi Jagabandhu Bidyadhar (Autonomous) College recorded top scores in Zoology (93.50%) and Computer Science (92%).
