Odisha hosts promo run for Puri Coastal Marathon

A promo run was held in Bhubaneswar to build momentum for the upcoming OMC Puri Coastal Marathon, scheduled for December 13 in Puri. The event is notable for being India’s only marathon that combines both sand and road running.

Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida flagged off the run, emphasizing the goal to promote fitness, youth engagement, and active lifestyles. The marathon features a total prize purse of Rs 1 crore and is intended to showcase Odisha as a hub for adventure and sports tourism.

Officials stated that the initiative aims to integrate sports, wellness, and heritage to boost local tourism and create livelihood opportunities. Over 2,000 registrations have already been received for the main event.
