Odisha invites aluminium downstream firms to invest in Anugola Aluminium Park

The Odisha government is actively inviting aluminium downstream companies to invest in the Anugola Aluminium Park. During a roadshow held in Kolkata, officials highlighted the state’s robust infrastructure, availability of raw materials, and investor facilitation services.

Organized by the National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO) in association with ASSOCHAM, the event featured participation from Odisha’s investment promotion agency, IPICOL, and industrial infrastructure agency, IDCO. Union Minister for Coal and Mines G. Kishan Reddy noted that Odisha accounts for approximately 60–70% of India’s aluminium production and over 70% of its bauxite production.

The Anugola Aluminium Park is a joint venture between IDCO and NALCO. Its proximity to NALCO’s smelter and its dedicated molten-metal transportation corridor are designed to support manufacturing in sectors such as aluminium extrusions, packaging, automotive components, and battery foils. Additionally, the Ministry of Mines indicated that a major expansion of NALCO’s operations in Odisha is under consideration to further strengthen the foundation for downstream investments.
