Odisha launches MRUTTIKA terracotta exhibition in Bhubaneswar

The annual state-level terracotta exhibition, MRUTTIKA-2026, has opened at the IDCO Exhibition Ground in Bhubaneswar. Organized by the Department of Handlooms, Textiles and Handicrafts, the seven-day event aims to promote Odisha’s traditional pottery and terracotta crafts ahead of the Diwali festival.

Approximately 380 artisans from 26 districts are participating through 218 stalls. Officials have set a business turnover target of over Rs 3 crore for the exhibition. The event runs until November 6, with daily hours from 11 AM to 9 PM.

Handlooms, Textiles and Handicrafts Minister Pradip Bal Samanta inaugurated the fair, noting that the government is providing free stalls to all participating artisans. Additionally, the department is covering travel expenses, daily allowances, and product transportation costs to support the livelihoods of the craftsmen.
