Odisha Law Department launches training for government lawyers

Odisha Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan has launched an initiative to strengthen the capacity of government advocates, additional government advocates, and associate advocates. The goal is to improve the management of civil cases in district and lower courts.

During a workshop on the effective management of civil cases held in Bhubaneswar, the Minister released a book titled ‘Guidelines and Best Practices’ to serve as a guide for government lawyers in maintaining transparency and protecting state interests. Harichandan emphasized that these lawyers serve not only as representatives but also as legal advisors who should inform the government if decisions or steps are incorrect.

The Minister also highlighted the potential of Artificial Intelligence to expedite judicial processes and increase efficiency in justice delivery. Future training programs are expected to be decentralized to the district level to ensure more robust and effective professional development.
