Odisha Legislative Assembly announces session schedule and committee visit

The Odisha Legislative Assembly has announced the schedule for its seventh session of the 17th Assembly. The monsoon session is set to run from September 22 to October 3, comprising nine working days. Most of the scheduled time is reserved for official government business, though September 25 has been designated for Private Members’ Business, allowing for the introduction of private members’ bills and resolutions.

In a separate legislative development, the Odisha Legislative Assembly’s Departmentally Related Standing Committee-III, led by Chairman Babu Singh, conducted a study visit to Uttar Pradesh from September 2 to September 7. The delegation met with Uttar Pradesh Assembly Speaker Satish Mahana and other officials to examine parliamentary practices. Key areas of study included the administration of the assembly, the e-Vidhan system, budget presentation procedures, and the use of live streaming and YouTube for broadcasting legislative proceedings.
