Odisha Medical PG Exam Paper Incident Prompted Government Probe
During the All‑Odisha medical postgraduate examination on 27 July 2026, photographs of the General Surgery theory paper for the MS/MD 2023‑26 batch were circulated on WhatsApp while the exam was in progress. Officials said the images were taken inside the examination hall and transmitted via a mobile device, describing the event as a management lapse rather than a pre‑exam leak.
The Odisha government denied a paper leak, formed a three‑member high‑level committee headed by Additional Secretary Bijay Kumar Dash (with Bijay Kumar Mishra and Anil Kumar Sahu) to investigate, and ordered a separate disciplinary panel at MKCG Medical College led by Dean‑Principal Harekrushna Dalai. OUHS Vice‑Chancellor Manas Ranjan Sahoo held a virtual meeting with college deans, an FIR was lodged at Bhubaneswar Capital Police Station, and the recently passed Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Amendment Bill 2026 will guide the inquiry, which will examine WhatsApp messages, timestamps and mobile records.
