Odisha Police deploy security for Shrabana Mela pilgrimage

Odisha Police have implemented extensive security and traffic management measures across the Central Range districts for the Shrabana Mela (Bol Bom). The arrangements are designed to facilitate the safe movement of thousands of Kanwariyas and devotees visiting various Shiva temples during the holy month of Shravana, specifically targeting Mondays in August.

In Puri, security is concentrated at the Shree Loknath Dev, Jodalinga Shiv, and Balikapileswar temples, involving multiple platoons, Home Guards, and senior officers. Cuttack has prepared for over 50,000 devotees at the Dhabaleswar Shiva Temple, while Singhanath Temple is also under increased surveillance.

Other districts including Nayagarh, Jagatsinghpur, Jajpur, Khordha, and Kendrapada have also deployed personnel to manage crowds, regulate traffic, and ensure safety at river crossings and major temple sites. Authorities are coordinating closely with temple administrations to manage large gatherings and ensure safe passage for pilgrims.
