Odisha releases 2026‑27 SAMS postgraduate admission schedule

The Higher Education Department of the Government of Odisha has published the counselling schedule for the 2026‑27 postgraduate admission cycle on the Student Academic Management System (SAMS) portal. The timeline includes choice‑locking for institutions and subjects from 27 July (3:00 PM) to 2 August (11:45 PM), the first merit/selection list on 7 August (4:00 PM), and a freeze/slide/float option window from 7 August (6:00 PM) to 11 August (4:00 PM). A second merit list is slated for 17 August (4:00 PM), followed by subsequent rounds, wait‑list publications, and the commencement of classes on 21 August. Eligibility requires a graduation degree recognized by the University Grants Commission, and the programme will be offered by 135 state‑run universities and colleges.

Applicants are instructed to log in to the SAMS portal, lock their preferences during the specified window, and complete fee payment and reporting to allotted institutes as per the schedule.
