Odisha reshuffles four IPS officers, appointing new Bhubaneswar DCP
The Odisha government has implemented a reshuffle of four Indian Police Service (IPS) officers, most notably appointing Dr. Saravana Vivek M as the new Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) for Bhubaneswar. This appointment fills the vacancy left by Jagmohan Meena, who resigned from the service effective September 11, 2026.
Dr. Saravana Vivek M, a 2015-batch officer and MBBS graduate, previously served as the Superintendent of Police (SP) in Berhampur and Rayagada. He also served as a police observer during the 2026 West Bengal Assembly elections.
Other key transfers in the reshuffle include:
• Abhinav Sonkar (2019-batch) has been transferred from SP Dhenkanal to SP Berhampur. • Mane Ajinkya Baburao (2022-batch) has been promoted from Additional SP Paradeep to SP Dhenkanal. • A. B. Silpa (2021-batch) has been moved from State Police Headquarters to serve as Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) in Bargarh.
The changes were enacted by order of the Governor via a Home Department notification.
