Odisha Strengthens Fertiliser Supply Controls for Kharif 2026

The Odisha state government has ordered district collectors to closely monitor fertiliser distribution and to take strict action against hoarding, black‑marketing and illegal movement across state borders. Dedicated enforcement squads comprising officials from agriculture, revenue and police departments have been deployed at district and block levels to conduct surprise inspections of wholesalers and retailers.

Stocks of various fertiliser grades have been positioned with MARKFED, Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS), Large‑Sized Adivasi Multipurpose Cooperative Societies (LAMPCS) and authorised retail dealers. An integrated monthly supply plan, prepared in coordination with central authorities, manufacturers and other stakeholders, aims to ensure timely replenishment and uninterrupted supply for the Kharif 2026 cropping season. Officials have urged farmers not to panic, assuring that adequate supplies are in place.
