Odisha to disburse Subhadra Yojana funds to 10 million women

Odisha Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida has announced that the next installment of the Subhadra Yojana financial assistance scheme will be disbursed on August 28, coinciding with Raksha Purnima. The payout will be conducted during a state-level program in Nayagarh, with funds credited directly to beneficiaries' bank accounts via the Direct Benefit Transfer system.

Following a verification process by district administrations, the number of eligible beneficiaries for this installment has been revised to 1,01,99,119 women, after 5,277 deceased individuals were removed from the initial list of 1,02,04,396 potential recipients. The scheme, which provides Rs 5,000 per installment, aims to deliver a total of Rs 50,000 over five years to eligible women.

To date, the Odisha government has transferred more than Rs 20,648 crore through the first four installments. Officials stated that applicants who meet eligibility criteria and complete necessary verifications, including e-KYC, will receive their dues. Those who were previously eligible but missed earlier payments may receive all five installments together once their status is confirmed.
