Odisha Vigilance arrests Assistant Civil Supplies Officer Dhumaram Murmu for Rs 15,000 bribe
Assistant Civil Supplies Officer Dhumaram Murmu of Champua in Keonjhar district was arrested by Odisha Vigilance after being caught demanding and accepting a Rs 15,000 bribe from a local cooperative official in connection with paddy procurement during the current Kharif Marketing Season.
Vigilance officials recovered the full amount, seized the officer's cash‑hand and bag, and launched simultaneous searches of Murmu's residential premises and office. The case has been registered under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act, 2018, and further investigation is underway.
