In Mayurbhanj district, Junior Engineer Sushil Kumar Singh was apprehended while accepting Rs 32,000 from a contractor under the MGNREGA scheme for a road‑construction bill. The full amount was seized and searches are underway on his assets.
In Khordha district, Assistant Sub‑Inspector Akshaya Kumar Sethy attempted to extort Rs 5,000 in a land‑dispute case.
