Odisha wins Best State Award at India International Water Week 2026

Odisha has been awarded the Best Award in the State Category at the 9th India International Water Week (IIWW) 2026. Held at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, the event focused on the theme of “Climate Resilient Water Management.”

As the partner state, Odisha showcased an integrated approach to water management through its pavilion. Key highlights included the Odisha Integrated Irrigation Project for Climate Resilient Agriculture (OIIPCRA), which features the restoration of minor irrigation systems, crop diversification, and integrated rice-fish farming. The state also presented the Kanupur Irrigation Project and the Pani Panchayat model, emphasizing the role of local institutions and farmers in water-use planning and irrigation management.
