Odiz Frogs wins baseball championship in final match before club closure

The Odiz Frogs men's baseball team secured the championship in their final match, defeating the Drachten Diamonds 7-5. Despite heavy rain and low spectator turnout during the early stages of the game, the team managed a victory in a tense final phase.

The championship marks a bittersweet milestone for the club, as Odiz Frogs is scheduled to cease operations in 2027. The dissolution is a result of budget cuts implemented by the municipality of Zaanstad. For many local families, the club's closure represents the end of a long-standing community era.
