ODTÜ to Open Barış Stadium at North Cyprus Campus on Nov 15 2026

The Middle East Technical University (ODTÜ) will inaugurate a new stadium named Barış at its North Cyprus campus on 15 November 2026. The venue is presented as a “sibling” to the university’s well‑known Devrim stadium and will host diploma ceremonies alongside Devrim.

Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Yozgatlıgil said the North Cyprus campus delivers the same education standards and diplomas as the Ankara main campus. All students receive scholarships covering 50 % to 100 % of tuition, and the campus currently enrolls about 2,300 students with a total capacity of 6,000. The next academic year’s intake is set at 1,005, with a goal to raise the total to 4,500 within four years. Students benefit from free dormitory accommodation, optional summer schools, and internship opportunities at ODTÜ Technopolis. Approximately 86 % of the student body comes from Turkey, 4 % from Northern Cyprus, and 10 % from 45 other countries.
