Odyssey surpasses 10 million viewers in South Korea

Christopher Nolan’s film ‘Odyssey’ has surpassed 10 million viewers in South Korea, achieving this milestone 33 days after its release. During its fifth weekend (September 4–6), the film drew 698,397 spectators, maintaining its position at the top of the box office for five consecutive weekends.

As the 35th film in South Korean history to reach the 10 million mark and only the 10th foreign film to do so, ‘Odyssey’ marks the first time a non-domestic film has reached this milestone in four years, following ‘Avatar: The Way of Water’. The film, which follows the journey of Odysseus (played by Matt Damon) returning to Ithaca after the Trojan War, has set a record for the longest consecutive run at number one for a foreign film released this year.

Other notable films in the box office include ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ in second place and the new release ‘Obsession’ in third.
