OEBEM and SOVEL discuss cooperation in Magnesia

The Federation of Professionals, Craftsmen, and Merchants of Magnesia (OEBEM) held a working meeting at the SOVEL S.A. facilities in Almyros to foster cooperation between large-scale industry and local small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

SOVEL, a subsidiary of SIDENOR, is a major steel production unit in Greece, operating a steel mill, a rolling mill, and a structural mesh production unit. The meeting aimed to create a bridge between the industrial complex and the local economy to benefit production and employment.

OEBEM presented a four-point agenda, which included strengthening the local supply chain by utilizing certified local businesses for supplies, technical services, and subcontracting. Additionally, the proposal emphasized utilizing the specialized technical workforce of OEBEM professional associations to support industrial needs regarding safety and quality.
