OECD Ambassador Felix Klein criticizes Germany's underutilization of organizational data
Felix Klein, the new OECD Ambassador, has criticized German policymakers for insufficiently utilizing the studies and analyses provided by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development. Klein noted that while Germany is currently the largest contributor to the OECD, the collective expertise and shared solutions from the 38 member states are not being adequately integrated into German domestic reforms.
Addressing recent educational concerns, Klein referenced the PISA study results. He highlighted that current data shows educational success in Germany remains too heavily dependent on social background. He suggested that Germany could learn from other nations that implement systematic support for children's linguistic development at an earlier age. Klein emphasized that while external critiques can be difficult to accept, incorporating such insights is essential for effective policy-making.
