Oeiras closes Avenida Marginal for 25th Mexa-se na Marginal event
The 25th edition of ‘Mexa-se na Marginal’ will take place this Sunday, September 20, in Oeiras. To celebrate World Car Free Day, the Avenida Marginal will be closed to vehicular traffic between Caxias and Praia da Torre from 09:30 to 12:30.
The event focuses on sports, health, and well-being, offering a variety of activities along the Tagus riverfront. The program includes experimental classes in disciplines such as Zumba, African dance, Pilates, Yoga, kickboxing, and cycling.
Specific locations will host different activities: Caxias will feature a solidarity run and walk, traditional games, and a mobile library; Paço de Arcos will host Chi Kung, Bodyattack, and health screenings including oral and psychological assessments; and Praia da Torre will offer Les Mills dance and fitness sessions. The initiative aims to encourage physical activity and community interaction in one of the municipality's most iconic spaces.
