Romania infrastructure: Major road and public works projects underway
Various infrastructure and public service developments are underway across several Romanian regions. In Dâmbovița County, construction has officially begun on the Pucioasa–Fieni bypass. This 12.68-kilometer project, valued at approximately 686 million lei, will be the county's first four-lane road, designed to divert heavy traffic from urban centers to improve safety and congestion.
In Târgu Jiu, Mayor Marcel Romanescu announced that work on the first underpass on Unirii Boulevard is scheduled to start after mid-September, following the completion of bidding processes. In Mioveni, modernization works have commenced on Dealul Viilor Street to upgrade road infrastructure and drainage systems. Meanwhile, in Ilfov, Hubert Thuma reported that work on the A0 motorway underpass in Berceni will be scheduled between 10:00 and 16:00 to minimize peak-hour traffic disruption.
Other regional updates include road repairs by SDM in Timișoara, the implementation of a new integrated travel card system for Trans Bus in Buzău, and the continuation of a nursery construction project in Oțelu Roșu using state funds following the conclusion of PNRR financing.
