Oer-Erkenschwick to host solar-powered cinema event

Oer-Erkenschwick will host its first solar-powered cinema event at the Maritimo Beach outdoor pool on September 12. The event aims to provide a sustainable open-air movie experience by using solar energy to power the screen, projection, and sound systems instead of traditional power generators.

Citizens can participate in selecting the film via a 24-hour vote on the city’s Instagram story. The candidates for the screening are ‘Zoomania 2’, ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’, and ‘Lilo & Stitch’. The event is scheduled to begin at 7:00 PM, with the film starting at 8:15 PM. Admission is free, though seating is limited and tickets are expected to be available online in the coming week.
