Ofcom investigates Sky News over Nigel Farage harassment claims

The UK media regulator Ofcom has launched a formal investigation into Sky News following complaints regarding the treatment of Nigel Farage’s daughter. The investigation will examine allegations of unfairness and unwarranted infringement of privacy.

Nigel Farage, leader of Reform UK, accused the broadcaster of “harassing” and “haranguing” his daughter at her home. The dispute arose after CCTV footage appeared to show media approaches at the property. Farage expressed outrage, stating there is no public interest in his daughter and threatening “serious consequences” if his family continues to be targeted.

Sky News has denied allegations of multiple approaches to the property, stating that reporters identified themselves and that the occupant chose not to engage. The broadcaster maintained it made “reasonable efforts” to contact Farage regarding legitimate questions, including an undeclared £5 million gift from a Reform UK donor. Reform UK also filed a complaint alleging the reporting presented Farage as a “liar” and omitted critical context.
