OFEQ to host symphonic tribute to Juan Gabriel in Querétaro

The Orquesta Filarmónica del Estado de Querétaro (OFEQ) is organizing a symphonic tribute to the late Mexican composer and performer Juan Gabriel. The concert is scheduled for September 24 at the Auditorio Josefa Ortiz de Domínguez.

The production will feature more than 100 artists, combining symphonic music, choral arrangements, and mariachi to honor the legacy of the ‘Divo de Juárez’. The event has the support of the Museo Juan Gabriel in Ciudad Juárez.

Musical direction will be led by Raúl García. Participating performers include the Coro Filarmónico de Querétaro, directed by Erick Escandón, soprano Carmen Ferrá, and soloist Carlos Alberto Velázquez. The Mariachi Universitario Real de Santiago from the Universidad Autónoma de Querétaro, led by María del Socorro López, will also perform to highlight the artist's connection to traditional Mexican music. The repertoire is expected to include iconic songs such as ‘Amor eterno’, ‘Costumbres’, ‘Se me olvidó otra vez’, and ‘Hasta que te conocí’.
