Offanengo hosts 35th annual dialect and language poetry competition
The 35th edition of the dialect and language poetry competition took place at the Church of San Rocco in Offanengo as part of the Settembre Offanenghese celebrations. The event, coordinated by poet and playwright Federica Longhi Pezzotti, featured musical accompaniment by Mauro Bolzoni on keyboard and Emanuele Cristiani on flute.
In the dialect category, Rinalda Corlazzoli won first prize for ‘An ragn’, followed by Lucia Giroletti in second and a tie for third between Graziella Vailati and Laura Piloni Arlondi. In the language category, Maria Vittoria Pozzoli took first prize for ‘Crepuscolo’, followed by Luciana Giovanna Groppelli and Cinzia Anselmi.
The competition also saw significant participation from students, with a record 158 poems submitted by primary and secondary school students from various Crema-area institutions. These young poets were recognized for works centered on the theme ‘Words that break down walls’. Offanengo Mayor Gianni Rossoni noted the event's importance in preserving dialectal heritage and fostering intergenerational dialogue.
