Office of the Children's Commissioner completes third Summer School of Young Leaders

The Office of the Children's Commissioner in Slovakia has completed the third annual Summer School of Young Leaders. The educational and development project aimed to strengthen leadership skills, personal growth, and life application among young people.

This year's cohort included 41 participants from across Slovakia, with an average age of 17. The group included young people from Ukraine and those in foster care. Over five days, participants engaged in professional and experiential activities covering mental health, psychological first aid, active listening, and communication skills such as non-verbal communication and articulating a personal vision.

Participants also worked with research findings from ‘Vision of Slovakia through the eyes of youth’ to formulate views on the future of youth parliaments. The program included workshops with guests from the business and sports sectors, as well as team-building activities like a trip to Trenčín Castle and regional sports tournaments.
