Office of the Registrar of Companies launches 2026 Risk Awareness Week

The Office of the Registrar of Companies (ORC) has launched its 2026 Risk Awareness Week in Accra, running from September 22 to September 25, 2026. Under the theme ‘Building a Risk-Smart ORC: Strengthening Resilience, Accountability and Service Excellence,’ the four-day program aims to enhance staff understanding of Enterprise Risk Management (ERM).

Registrar of Companies, Mrs Maame Samma Peprah, Esq., emphasized that risk management must be a shared responsibility across all directorates and zonal offices rather than being confined to a single department. She noted that effective mitigation is essential to protecting the institution’s resources, reputation, and its ability to provide reliable company registration, accurate records, and compliance services to the public.

Mrs. Peprah urged unit and zonal heads to act as risk owners and champions, ensuring that controls are implemented and emerging concerns are reported promptly. The initiative seeks to foster a culture where risks are identified and addressed early to prevent disruptions to the ORC’s mandate and public service delivery.
