Offida reports 28% increase in summer tourism

The town of Offida experienced a significant surge in tourism during the summer season, with official data for local museum sites showing a 28% increase in visitors compared to the same period last year. Between May and August, total attendance reached 15,874, up from 12,429 in the previous year.

August was the primary driver of this growth, recording 6,360 visitors, a 47% increase over the previous year. The most notable growth occurred at Il Serpente Aureo, a UNESCO World Heritage theater, where attendance nearly quadrupled with a 275% increase, rising from 1,038 to 3,889 visitors during the May-August period.

International tourism also saw a 25% rise, with significant visitor numbers arriving from the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, the United States, and Germany. Tourism Councilor Isabella Bosano attributed the success to targeted communication of the town's heritage and its ability to offer authentic experiences through its unique traditions and sites.
