Offshore Double Handed World Championship qualifiers advance teams to final

The Offshore Double Handed World Championship in Marseille is approaching its 48-hour final, scheduled to begin on Wednesday, September 30. Several teams have already secured their places in the decisive race.

Belgian duo Jonas Gerckens and Djemila Tassin, racing as the “Red Dolphins,” dominated their qualifying race to finish first in their group, ahead of the reigning world champions. They join the Dutch pair Simeon Tienpont and Christiane Walta, who previously qualified in fourth place.

German competitors are also making progress, with Clara Witthinich and Oliver Schmidt-Rybandt securing a spot in the final after finishing second in their qualifying race. Other participants, including the new duo Lina Rixgens and Andreas Baden, are competing in the Sunfast 30 OD class to secure a top-five group finish for direct qualification.
