OFI Crete 2-1 defeat by Willem II in Dutch friendly
Greek side OFI Crete were beaten 2-1 by Dutch club Willem II in a friendly match held in the Netherlands. Willem II opened the scoring early, with a goal in the seventh minute, and added a second before halftime. OFI reduced the deficit in the 89th minute when Kostoulas headed in from a free‑kick delivered by Aitor.
After the match, OFI head coach Christos Kontis said the team showed “significant improvement in the way we play” compared with earlier friendlies, but stressed that they still have not found a consistent rhythm. He highlighted better ball possession, defensive organization and midfield combinations, while noting the need to create more clear‑cut chances and limit the opponent’s shooting opportunities.
