OFI defeats PAOK 2-1 in Super League match

OFI secured a 2-1 victory against PAOK at the Pankritio Stadium during the 8th round of the Super League. Taxiarhis Fountas opened the scoring in the 38th minute following a mistake by PAOK goalkeeper Antonis Tsiftsis, who failed to control a long pass from Aitor. Thanasis Androutsos doubled the lead in the 84th minute via a penalty awarded after a handball by Abdoulaye Bamba.

PAOK's Simon Banza scored a late goal in the 89th minute, but the Cretan side held on for the win. The result marks a significant turnaround for OFI, breaking a four-match losing streak in domestic and European competitions. For PAOK, the defeat leaves them in fifth place, six points behind the league leader, Panathinaikos.

Following the match, PAOK coach Alessio Lisio addressed the team's performance, noting the need for better defensive stability and balance between attack and defense. He also commented on the team's adaptation following the departure of Giannis Konstantelias, stating that while the player was important, the squad must move forward and adjust to new dynamics.
