Ligue 1: OGC Nice defeats Stade Rennais 5-2

OGC Nice secured a dominant 5-2 victory over Stade Rennais FC during the ninth round of the Ligue 1 2026/2027 season at the Allianz Riviera. Elye Wahi was the standout performer, scoring a hat-trick that included two penalties.

Despite the loss, Stade Rennais remains in third place in the standings with 16 points. However, the club faces significant scrutiny regarding its defensive stability. The team has conceded 19 goals so far this season, including 13 goals during their last three away matches.

Following the match, Rennes coach Franck Haise expressed disappointment regarding his team's defensive fragility and tactical errors. Meanwhile, Nice coach Olivier Pantaloni praised his squad's offensive effectiveness while cautioning his players to remain focused for the remainder of the long season.
